How much does Panchakarma cost in Rishikesh? 2026 prices and what they include

Divine School of Ayurveda, Rishikesh ·

Panchakarma in Rishikesh usually costs somewhere between about $70 and $280 a day in 2026 in public listings, depending on what the price bundles: doctor supervision, medicines, therapies, accommodation and meals. At Divine School of Ayurveda in Muni Ki Reti, a first consultation is $20 and treatment programs cost around $120 a day, covering therapies, medicines, Ayurvedic meals, daily doctor supervision and GST, with accommodation arranged separately. A full Panchakarma course usually runs 10 to 21 days.

A bright guest room with a double bed in white linen, two wicker chairs, patterned curtains and glass doors opening onto a balcony with green trees outside.

The honest answer is that Panchakarma in Rishikesh has no single price. A quote can bundle a resort room and yoga classes, or it can be a treatment-only rate with accommodation left to you. This guide explains what actually drives the cost, shows what public listings charged in 2026, and sets out the clinic’s own numbers so you can compare like with like.

What drives the cost of Panchakarma

Five things set the price: how many days you stay, how many hours of therapy you get each day, whether medicines are included, how much time a qualified doctor spends with you, and whether accommodation and meals are bundled in. Two quotes with the same daily figure can buy very different things.

Duration

Duration matters most. Panchakarma is a sequence, not a single treatment: preparation, the main procedure, then a graded return to normal food. A full course usually takes 10 to 21 days, so the total is the daily rate multiplied by two or three weeks. We explain how the length is decided in 7, 14 or 21 days of Panchakarma.

Therapies

A Panchakarma day often includes a full-body oil massage (abhyanga), herbal steam or a heated herbal bundle (potli), and on some days a main procedure such as a medicated enema (basti) or therapeutic purgation (virechana). Many of these need two therapists working together. Oils are used in quantity and are chosen for your condition.

Medicines

Herbal medicines are prescribed before, during and after the course. Some places include them; others bill them separately at the end. Ask which.

Doctor supervision

This is where the real differences lie. In a clinic, a doctor examines you before anything starts and reviews you each day, because the main procedures are adjusted to how your body responds. At some retreats, a doctor sees you once at the start and therapists carry the rest.

Accommodation and food

Rooms are the most variable part of any package. A resort night costs far more than a guesthouse room a few minutes’ walk from a clinic. Food matters too, because the diet during Panchakarma is specific and changes as the course goes on.

What Panchakarma costs in Rishikesh in 2026

Public listings for Rishikesh in October 2026 put Panchakarma retreats at roughly $70 to $280 a day, with accommodation and meals included. These figures vary by season, room type and provider, and they change, so treat them as a snapshot.

On BookRetreats’ Rishikesh Panchakarma listings for October 2026, programs with Panchakarma in the title were listed from:

Program length Listed “from” price (USD) Roughly per day
3 days $245 $82
7 to 8 days $540 to $1,270 $68 to $181
14 days $1,471 to $2,053 $105 to $147
21 days (resort) $2,896 $138

Almost all of these listed accommodation and three meals a day as included, and many added yoga classes. At the resort end, an 11-night Panchakarma package listed on Bookimed quoted $1,958 for single occupancy, with room rates of $178 to $277 a night depending on room and occupancy, including meals, a doctor consultation, daily treatment and medicines.

What the listings rarely tell you is how much of that daily figure pays for the room and how much pays for medical care. That is the number worth asking about.

What the clinic charges, and what is included

At Divine School of Ayurveda, a first consultation is $20, online or in person, and treatment programs cost around $120 a day including therapies, herbal medicines, meals, daily doctor supervision and GST. Accommodation is separate.

Item Price Notes
First consultation $20 Online or at the clinic in Muni Ki Reti. Includes Nadi Pariksha in person.
Treatment program ~$120 per day Therapies, herbal medicines, Ayurvedic meals, daily review by the doctors, GST
7 days of treatment ~$840 Often a shorter therapy course rather than full Panchakarma
14 days of treatment ~$1,680 A common length for a full course
21 days of treatment ~$2,520 For longer courses or more than one main procedure
Accommodation Separate The clinic can arrange nearby guesthouses, or you book your own

The day totals are simple arithmetic on the daily rate. Your actual plan, length and price are set after the consultation, before you commit to anything. Programs at the clinic run anywhere from 3 to 21 days; see programs and pricing for the current summary.

Keeping accommodation separate is deliberate. It means you are not paying resort prices for a medical program, and you can choose a room that suits your budget. The clinic is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00 IST at C-6, Ganga Vatika Retreat, Near Palm Bliss Hotel, Muni Ki Reti, and can book clean, quiet rooms within walking distance.

Included versus extra: a checklist

Before comparing prices, line up what each quote covers. Use this list with any clinic, including this one.

Ask about Why it matters
Consultation fee Is the first assessment charged separately?
Doctor reviews How often does a qualified doctor see you during the course?
Medicines Included, or billed at the end? Are they given with labels and instructions?
Therapies per day How many sessions, how long, how many therapists?
Accommodation Bundled, arranged separately, or your own?
Meals Who prepares the Panchakarma diet, and is it included?
Medicines to take home Is a post-course supply included or extra?
Follow-up Can you contact the doctor after you leave?
Taxes Are quoted prices inclusive of GST?

What to ask any clinic before you pay

Ask who the doctor is, whether they will examine you before the plan is set, what exactly the price covers, and what happens if the doctor decides Panchakarma is not right for you. Clear answers to these four questions tell you more than any brochure.

  • Who is the doctor, and what is their qualification? In India, Ayurvedic doctors hold a BAMS degree and are registered with a state board under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine. Asking for a registration number is normal. You can read about the clinic’s doctors on the about page.
  • Will I be examined before you set a plan? A plan written before anyone has seen you is a package, not a prescription.
  • Who decides the length? It should be the doctor, after assessment.
  • What if Panchakarma is not suitable for me? A good answer includes the word “no”.
  • What medicines will I take, and will I get them in writing?
  • What happens if I feel unwell during the course?

Red flags

Be cautious if there is no doctor, no consultation, or a promise that your condition will go away for good. These are the clearest signs that you are buying a spa package, not medical care.

  • No named doctor, or a doctor you never actually meet.
  • No consultation before booking. Fixed packages sold online with no questions about your health.
  • Claims of certain results, or “detox” promises with numbers attached. Indian law, under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, restricts advertising remedies for a long list of diseases, and responsible clinics do not make these claims.
  • Everyone is accepted. Panchakarma is not suitable for everyone (see below), so a provider that never turns anyone away is not screening.
  • Unlabelled medicines with no written instructions.
  • Pressure to pay the full amount before you have spoken to a doctor.

Who should not do Panchakarma

Panchakarma is not for everyone, whatever the budget. Classical texts and current Ayurvedic teaching institutions exclude pregnancy, acute fever, significant weakness, and some ages and conditions from the main cleansing procedures.

The Charak Samhita Research, Training and Development Centre at ITRA, Jamnagar lists conditions in which therapeutic purgation is not done, including diarrhoea, rectal or other bleeding, acute fever and acute rhinitis, and patients who are elderly, children, pregnant, weak, or excessively thin or obese. Its overview of Panchakarma states that the person should have good strength to withstand the purification procedures.

In practice, the doctors also want to know about heart conditions, recent surgery, uncontrolled blood pressure or blood sugar, and any medicines you take. If Panchakarma is not right for you now, they will say so and suggest what is, which may be diet, herbs and routine managed from home. That conversation is what the $20 consultation is for.

Why a lower daily price is not always cheaper

The cheapest daily rate often leaves out the doctor or the medicines, and the most expensive is often paying for the room. Compare the medical part of the price on its own.

If your reason for coming is a specific condition, such as long-standing digestive problems, start with a consultation, online or in person. The doctors will tell you plainly whether a Panchakarma program is worth the money in your case, and how long it needs to be.
